The MUMO2, Musée Mobile d’art contemporain imagined by the designer Matali Crasset, travels around the Pays de la Loire. On this occasion, the friends of MuMo, the Frac des Pays de la Loire and Opixido  imagined a digital device aimed at primary school children. The idea was to propose a tool where the young visitor becomes a curator creating his own MuMo. Discovering Frac’s art pieces and museum’s curating constraints, the child experiments alone or with his class and brings back his creation.

Description

The Musée des Métiers de la Chaussure (shoe trades museum) is housed in a former factory and was founded in 1995. It addresses shoe manufacturing from both a craftsman’s (shoe and clog maker) and an industrial (creation to finish) point of view. It has a collection of more than 2.500 shoes and a hundred industrial machines from 1875 to the 1960s. Each year a new temporary exhibition presents a theme around shoes, their history, materials or even techniques.

In March 2019 the museum wanted to offer a digital and fun experience in order to enrich its visit. Opixido has been entrusted with the creation of six multimedia devices mostly aimed at a family audience. Each device offers an educational film and a mini-game highlighting the major stages of manufacturing a shoe and how the machines on display work. From one terminal to the next, young and old alike are invited to follow Sam Bott, opixido’s new mascot for the Museum, to solve the puzzle of the Lost Key.
